First, owning pets makes you physically healthier! People who have pets report lower blood pressure , triglyceride, and cholesterol levels than people without pets. People with pets also exercise more! Having a dog you need to walk every day will help you get outside on your feet, which is amazing for your overall health.

Owning pets also makes you mentally happier. It has been proven with research that interacting with pets reduces the amount of stress hormones in your body. Pets also help combat feelings of loneliness: In a study of 148 college women, those who owned pets scored lower on the UCLA Loneliness Scale than those without. Lastly, pets encourage socializing! When you walk your dog or take your animal for a play date, you have the chance to interact with other pet owners and bond over your shared love of your pet!

What We Provide

With all of this research showing the benefits of pets, it made perfect sense to us to make Somerset a welcoming, pet-friendly place for pets of all kinds. We have several amenities we offer you and your pet. First, our apartments have spacious living areas , so you and your pet have plenty of room to lounge around together. Second and maybe the most exciting, we have a dog run on our property. Our dog run, situated at the center of our complex, allows you and your pet to exercise without ever having to leave the grounds! If you want to explore Montebello with your pet, Somerset is located within an easy distance of Montebello City Park, a large space with room for your pet to play.

A Few Ground Rules

At Somerset, we cannot wait to have you and your pet join us! We just have a few rules to make sure everyone, including you and your pet, have the best experience with us. When you first move in, make sure your pet is on the approved list of pets. This list includes all cats automatically. Hamsters, guinea pigs, birds, reptiles, and other small pets are also allowed, but they must be caged and kept in a sanitary condition. Any other pet must be approved by management and cannot fall under our restricted dog breed list. Luckily, as long as your pet is under 50 pounds and not on our restricted breed list, it will most likely be approved.
